Exploring Together

Exploring Together

For two decades, we've been inseparable companions in our endeavours. The desire to travel has forever occupied a spot on our wish list, but it remained an elusive dream. Finally, we carved out time to pursue our shared passion. It was only two years ago that we rekindled our love for motorcycling, discovering it to be the perfect vehicle for our adventures.

In our quest, we've attempted to exert our will and manage every conceivable variable. However, our experiences in both traveling and motorcycling have taught us a valuable lesson: while we cannot command every aspect of life, it's the journey itself that truly counts, and it's the experiences that truly satisfy us.

Furthermore, we realized that riding side by side on motorcycles, rather than being a passenger, has strengthened our connection even more. The open road has a magical way of bonding souls, and the wind in our faces as we traverse landscapes both familiar and foreign has become the soundtrack to our friendship.

As we explore new destinations and uncover hidden gems, we're not just collecting memories; we're adding chapters to our life story. Each twist of the throttle propels us forward, not just in miles but in the rich tapestry of experiences that define our lives.

In the chaos of our busy world, where work weeks blur out the weekend spent with friend and hurried parties that are put together, we've learned to find moments of peace on winding roads and in serene landscapes. The challenges we've encountered, from unexpected detours to sudden rain showers, have become opportunities to go on uncharted paths and endless curiosity that is satiated. They've reminded us that life's beauty often lies in the unexpected.

Through in it all, our shared passion for motorcycling has rekindled our spirits and reconnected us with the simple joys of being alive. The camaraderie we share on the road is a testament to the enduring strength of our friendship.

So, as we continue to chase horizons and explore new horizons, we do so with a deep appreciation for the journey itself. We've come to understand that while we may not control everything, the experiences, laughter, and shared moments are the true treasures we've collected on our adventures. And with every twist of the throttle, we embrace the uncertain, knowing that it's the ride of a lifetime that truly matters.

I'm Sona, and my love for motorbike riding runs deep in my veins. Since I was a kid, I've had this burning desire to explore new places and connect with people from all walks of life.
Traveling for me was always about freedom, that exhilarating feeling of breaking away from the ordinary. I began my journey into the world of motorcycling at the age of 21, and back then, it was quite unusual for a young girl like me to be so into bikes. But there was something magical in the simplicity of those two wheels that kept pulling me in.

Fast forward 20 years, and that passion is still burning as bright as ever. I find joy in the wind in my hair, the rumble of the engine, and the open road stretching ahead. It's not just about speed; it's about having the freedom to chart my own course and explore the world at my own pace.

India, with its diverse landscapes and rich culture, has always been a special place for me to ride. But my dreams reach far beyond. I want to uncover the hidden gems in every corner of India and beyond, exploring this beautiful world on two wheels.

So, whether I'm navigating the winding roads of the hills, feeling the serenity of southern beaches, or experiencing the hustle and bustle of streets, I'm living my dream. Every twist of the throttle is a step closer to my ultimate quest: to discover the world, meet incredible people, and embrace boundless freedom on the open road.

Join me on this incredible journey of life, where every mile is a new adventure, and every ride is a story waiting to be told.

"As a baby, when my dad used to leave for the office, he had to take me for a ride on the tank of his Yezdi. As I grew up, my dad owned a 1976 Royal Enfield Bullet. The bike was a permanent fixture in our living room, becoming an integral part of our lives. This is where my fascination with motorcycles was born. As I grew older, all I could think about was riding that bike.

At the age of 18, my dad taught me to ride the bike. But before the lessons began, he ensured I knew how to change the clutch cable, the acceleration cable, spark plug, and starter coil. He also showed me how to change the rear wheel, making sure I would never be stranded on the road. I accompanied him to the mechanic every time the bike needed servicing and spent time in the workshop, learning the ins and outs of the bike. During that time, the bond between your bike and your mechanic was personal.

The Royal Enfield had mechanical timing, and kicking it to life required an understanding of the machine. If you were the sole rider, it would tune to your kick. In 2001, I moved to Bangalore, and a year later, the bike followed. It was here that my true motorcycle journey began, away from my parents and hometown. The Bullet community was still small, and the classic RE 350 community was even smaller. We used to meet up at Town Hall and go out for rides, spending weekends at Muneer-da's workshop in Coxs Town. I covered about 50,000 kilometres on my bike in 5-6 years in Bangalore, until the day I lost a dear friend to a freak bike accident, and I gave up riding altogether. I don't know if it was a good or bad decision, but we eventually sold the Bullet since neither my dad nor I were riding, and it was heart-breaking to see the bike sit idle.

Fast forward to 2021, I started with a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 as a birthday gift for my wife, Sona. A few months later, she encouraged me to pick up a bike, and I chose a KTM Adventure 390, which she gave me as an anniversary gift. We began riding out regularly every weekend. Initially, it was just the two of us exploring what lay beyond Bangalore. Then we started riding with friends and eventually joined the RE rider group. Although I was in the 'Other Bike Category,' we had plenty of rides under our belt, thanks to the strong RE community planning rides nearly every week.

After riding together for two years, we've explored many places around Bangalore and in Karnataka. We realized that the incredible experiences we had on our rides should be curated and shared for other riders to enjoy. We want to ignite the spark in your riding life so that you can embark on your own journeys, just like us. We hope to kindle the nomad within you, especially for couples to start riding together and lead a more fulfilling life through motorcycling."
